DENIM ON DENIM

I’ve been seeing the denim on denim trend all over the place (magazines, TV, work, everywhere) & so I decided to give it a go! I must say, I love it!  The trend looks best when it’s two shades of denim rather than the same shade, in my opinion. It’s just such an easy outfit – you throw on two pieces of denim together & you pair them with a fun shoe. A leopard print flat ads visual interest for a look that is both polished & well put together. What do you ladies think? Denim shirt – G by…

SEPHORA SPRING SOCIAL VIP ROUGE EVENT

Ok, I’ll admit it, I’m a little obsessed with make-up – hence my VIP Rouge status. Do I regret it? Not even for a second :) This past weekend Sephora was organizing a VIP Rouge event for Spring, offering 15% off on everything in store + a make-up bag full of samples. I took full advantage of this event to stack up on all the make-up I was running out on + try some new products. Here is a little review of the goodies I got! Some of my favourites & some newbies. 1- Sephora collection anti-shine foundation primer:…

ONE TOP – 5 WAYS

Pastels are one of the biggest trends this Spring/Summer (if one of these seasons decides to make an appearance sometime soon…) and I decided to try a light yellow color for a change. I don’t usually wear yellow, so I thought I would try something new. I ordered this shirt online from Sheinside and when it arrived I wasn’t really sure what to pair it with. It was wrinkled but the iron did the trick :) Turns out the shirt is very versatile & goes with pretty much everything. I decided to create 5 different looks with some of the…

MILITARY GREEN PARKA

It’s April and it’s still snowing! Needless to say I was really happy when I received this military green parka from Sheinside to keep nice and warm. I dressed it down with a plaid shirt & jeans for a relaxed weekend look, but it would also look great with a dress – I’m thinking a white dress….(idea for another outfit, wink wink) I’ve been looking for a parka like this for a while – couldn’t decide whether I rather PU sleeves or a faux fur hood, but I decided to go with the faux fur & I’m happy with my…

SALARY NEGOCIATION

There may be countless reasons why we leave one job in pursuit of another; career aspirations, passion, interest, re-location, etc. However, for the most part, salary is at the top of the list. Sure, you want to advance your career, but salary & advancement most often go hand in hand. Once you have found ‘the one’ & the interview process is finalized, HR or hiring manager will most likely ask you the magic question: what is your salary expectation? Now, let there be no confusion, if you are being asked this question, you most likely already got the job.…

RICOTTA & SPINACH TRIANGLES

I decided to combine a few recipes of spanakopita and replace feta by ricotta cheese (which is more rich in protein) and created this very simple & healthy snack. Here is what I used to make about 10 triangles: Boiled half a package of fresh spinach (about 150 grams) for 10 seconds Ricotta cheese (about 150 grams) 1 egg Salt & pepper Phyllo pastry – cut out each sheet in 3 strips & used double strips for each triangle Mixed spinach, ricotta, egg, salt & pepper together & stuffed each of the double strips & rolled them into triangles – Baked for 15…

MINT JUMPER

It snowed again this weekend & this time I decided to embrace the storm! We went skiing to Bromont on Saturday & the conditions were just amazing – the snow was perfect & it wasn’t too cold – just an overall perfect Saturday :) At the same time, I am not giving up on the Spring fashions. It’s Monday and here is what I am wearing: a mint green jumper. I wore it with beige studded booties outside & switched to these gorgeous Jessica Simpson pumps at the office. I love a relaxed look with a heel – it’s comfortable,…
