DECISION TREE

While shopping, we often pick up things we don’t really need but we just don’t seem to be able to put down. How many of you ladies brought back something home that you regretted buying? Impulse purchases are bad purchasing decisions. They usually costs us a lot of money & end up making us very unhappy. An interesting article was posted on the BBC website featuring the picture below. It’s a decision tree to help us make better purchasing decisions, be it clothing, electronics, groceries, etc. Now, it’s easier said than done – this is not a miracle solution or a recipe for instant success.…

HEALTHIER SNACK

Ok, so we all have cravings. Even when we try our hardest to stay on track and be healthy, we crack. However, it’s actually a good thing to indulge once in a while. The guilt of the indulgence will make you more interested in eating salads the rest of the week. However, be smart about it ladies, if you’re going to have a “cheat” snack, have a homemade one. I love chips and salsa – one of my favorite snacks, but I don’t like salsa in jars that I find at the grocery stores, so I did some research on pinterest on…

Why is investing a smart idea?

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” – Benjamin Franklin The stock market is a fascinating game, those who dare, become players and those who don’t get left behind. Female Fitness Bible

Let’s face it ladies, when it comes to exercise, we tend to classify it as top priority but we tend to treat is as the least important part of our lives. I will admit, I do the same. There are weeks where I am true to my goal of going to the gym 3 times a week, and there are weeks I don’t even get one foot through the door. The reality is that we need to exercise regularly to be healthy, so I started thinking about why my interest in the gym fluctuates so much. I realized the there are two main reasons: 1)…

NYKS Bistro Pub

From upscale places to those mysterious holes in the wall, basically if it’s packed with flavor that I want to try. Here is one such place: NYKS Bistro Pub The menu has a wide assortment of options. In terms of pub style, there’s a variety of poutines and burgers, while on the bistro front, there are salads, tartars, mussels and homemade sausages. They also had some attractive specials of the day written on blackboards throughout the restaurant, these included ostrich and bison burgers (we weren’t adventurous enough to try them). Prices were fair with entrées ranging from 5$ to 13$…

Chicken & Broccoli Pasta

Honestly, I’m a true believer that the dirtier the kitchen, the better the meal! Not everyone at home might agree, but that’s my mantra :) I found a simple recipe online on how to prepare chicken broccoli pasta, and the reason for that is that I had chicken, broccoli & pasta in my fridge/cupboard, no joke. The best way to save money and best utilize groceries is to look in the fridge and see what’s in there and then research how you can make a meal out of it. So, I took the recipe and substituted various ingredients with what…
