W hotel – luxe, contemporary & modern. A week ago, I had the opportunity to spend a night at this prestigious hotel located in the heart of the city, bordering Old Montreal. So I didn’t know this cool fact but the hotel’s design reflects Montreal’s history, the gold accents speak to the building’s history & the fur skin touches represent fur trading – it all screams Montreal & make this hotel unique in its nature. My room was located on the 6th floor & had a view on Square Victoria. It was a stunning open concept space with a king size bed and all the necessary amenities. I love open spaces, so this room suited me perfectly! The bathroom was open too, however there are curtains to close it up for privacy. I absolutely loved the gold accents & the marble wall paper, I feel they added to the chicness of the room – so glam! I took full advantage of the space to shoot a couple of lookbooks for the blog!
Everything about this stay was comfort and relaxation. I started off the evening with an amazing 90 minute treatment at the Away spa to unwind. The treatment included a 30 minutes full body exfoliation and finished off with a 60 minutes massage. I must admit that the exfoliation was a bit painful (ok a lot painful, I’m a big baby or a delicate princess, as I like to think of it, lol) – since I never did it before, I did not know what to expect – but it was completely worth it! Immediately after the treatment, I took a shower and my skin never felt so smooth! It’s been a week now and I still feel the benefits. Plus, the massage that followed was even more pleasant & relaxing. My therapist was amazing – she was able to repair my aching muscles & sooth all the tension in my back (I always have back problems, though it was pertinant to mention). No stress, no worries, no tension – I felt completely zen. Loved everything about the experience and I would definitely go back for the same treatment or to try out some of their other services such as facial & nail care.
After the massage, a knock at the door turned out to be a special gift from the W Hotel – a bottle of champagne & macaroons, which were both absolutely delicious! I had no trouble passing out in the comfortable bed at the end of the evening after such a relaxing evening. The rooms are very well isolated, so I did not hear a single sound during the night and pretty much slept like a baby the entire night ;) The staff was very friendly & welcoming, and were able to help me with eveything. I highly recommend!
