FROM GYM TO WEEKEND ERRANDS

Under $100; no luggage required! It all starts with the right bag to transition from the gym to weekend errands. This light pink Rampage backpack from Giant Tiger is the perfect one (and on sale for $23). Throw in a towel as well as a floral romper & a pair of sandals to change from your workout clothes and you’re good to go. You don’t need to carry around your entire closet during the Summer if you need to run some errands or go for brunch right after gym. Ah the beauty of not having to carry a coat! And clothes don’t need to cost an arm and a leg; you can be on a budget and still look stylish. Giant Tiger introduced a new line of trendy clothing: Lily Morgan & a new line of activewear: ACX Active. I am in love with the workout wear (featured in photos here), very good quality & super cute, as well as with the Lily Morgan pieces, like this floral romper featured below. Tee, leggings, handbag & romper combined are under $100! Lately, I’ve been pretty focused on working out and eating well to loose some weight to regain that beach body lol and to fit intommy wedding dress – which is not an easy feat.

Diets don’t work. Not for me anyway; it has to be a change in lifestyle to truly work. It’s not just about counting calories – sorry, but that’s a must; if you eat more calories than you burn in a day, you will gain weight, it’s that simple. Now, I’m not saying you need to add it all up on a calculator and stress going 100 calories overboard. It’s about thinking of food as fuel, choosing healthy options with less sugar, going back to basics and eating things that come from nature not which are manmade, choosing bio option, and of course cooking more and eating out less. For example, I need 1,200 calories a day, so I know that each meal should be roughly 400 calories. If I go over that in one meal, I will compensate for it in another. It’s not easy, let me tell you, I’ve been struggling with it since January but I am starting to train myself to think differently.

The key is to eat enough protein to keep you full. Lately I’ve been trying out Genuine Health, fermented vegan proteins+, which contain 20g of protein per serving & no sugar. I’m not a huge fan of protein powder, I usually don’t like the taste to be quite honest. I find this one good when mixed in with greek yogurt although it’s pretty sweet so it’s best to mix it in with plain greek yogurt with no sugar. I must say that it kept me full from breakfast to lunch without any snacks in between and I did not feel bloated afterwards. What’s different with these fermented vegan proteins over regular ones is that they don’t get you bloated and the are said to improve digestive health. They’re also all natural and contain no GMOs. I haven’t tried baking with it yet but I have some recipes I want to try out this week! I also tried out the protein bars and really like the chocolate one! It’s rare that protein bars don’t taste like rubber, but this one is pretty good. It’s pretty good to grab before a workout; 9g of sugar for 15g of protein is not bag at all. IMG_1467 IMG_1611 2IMG_1447 IMG_1455
