Parma Cafe – A little taste of Italy! As soon as my hubby & I entered the resto, we were hit with flashbacks from our Honeymoon in Florence. This charming spot opened just over a month ago in the middle of downtown Montreal (1202 Bishop) and it looks exactly like the little resto/shops we have seen in Italty! They serve amazing home cooked meals such as pizzas, pastas, sandwiches & salads, as well as specialities of the day – all at extremely reasonable prices! Aside from being a restaurant, it acts as a mini grocery store – over the counter (typically European). Amongst a vast variety of goods, you can find privately imported oils, desserts & wine – including my absolutely favourite bubbly red wine (right?! I was equally shocked and pleasantly surprised – must try!) Below is a sample of what Parma Cafe has to offer!
Soup of the day: Hearty & tasty soup with pasta, beans, peas, potatoes & parmesan – YUM! It’s a soup but can easily act as a meal. It’s a mixture somewhere between a soup and pasta – a marriage of the two makes the perfect combo!
Margarita Pizza & Vegetarian Calzone: Baked to perfection, with the bottom super crunchy – finger licking good. Perfect to grab for lunch or dinner at only $4! The Margarita slice was my favourite, but I also love the calzone stuffed with potatoes and cheese which you dip its marinara sauce! The dough was not too thin and not too thick – just the right proportion.
Truffle pene: AH, the best for last – no wonder this is one of the most popular dishes, it simply tastes heavenly. Cooked in truffle oil with mushrooms, garlic & a hint of parmesan to garnish – needless to say, there was nothing left on the plate! So simple, yet so good!
You simply can’t go wrong with your choice – everything is beyond delicious. And don’t be surprised to see me there when you visit the spot, b/c this is on my list of fave restos in town!
Buon Appetito! ;)
