It’s official, I’m getting married in August, 2016! Now, I would be lying if I told you that I have dreamt of this day since I was a little girl and thus unfortunately I do not have it all planned out in my head. But, when you find the one, things just fall into place…. or do they…? I just barely started planning this wedding & I already find the process stressful, but it seriously shouldn’t be – it should be fun & exciting! It’s always easier when someone gives you advice, a road map of where to begin! That’s why I decided that throughout the year, at every step of my planning process, I will fill you in on all the tips and tricks I learn along the way, including inspiration I used to create my wedding vision! The focus of this post is on the fun part: wedding jewellery. Dress, shoes & jewellery shopping are my favourite parts of the entire wedding planning process! But where to begin? Here are some of my favourites from MATY as inspo for the 4 things I am looking for as a bride in terms of jewellery:
1- Wedding bands: I got engaged in NYC over the labor day weekend – it was a total & utter surprise, I was not expecting it at all. I had tears in my eyes yet I still managed to blur out an inappropriate joke “what are you doing” when he went down on one knee, lol, – he laughed though! To my astonishment, he pulled out the exact ring I had picked out of a catalogue months ago when my sister asked me to help her pick out an engagement ring for her colleague who asked her help – how naive could I be? I picked a very simple princess cut solitaire diamond. I may not have planned it out since I was 5, but I know my style ;) I knew that I wanted something classic & sophisticated, yet subtle. I also knew I would pair it with a wedding band full of diamonds, hehe. I browsed MATY’s wedding jewelry for the perfect wedding band:
2- Earrings & bracelets: I love necklaces, but I find that a necklace might be too much if you’re doing sparkle either in the body of the dress or in a belt. That’s why I prefer big earrings & a stunning bracelet! I truly see a lot of beauty in simplicity, I feel it looks more polished & sophisticated. Lately I am obsessed with pearls, and I feel like silver looks nicer in terms of wedding accessories, but that’s just my person opinion! And my favourite bracelet from MATY’s bracelets section:
3- Bridesmaid gifts: Now, I don’t want to say too much, b/c I do hope my bridesmaids read my blog, but jewellery is honestly the best gift for bridesmaids b/c they can cherish if for many years to come and always remember that it came from you! 4- Gift for mom: The most special lady in your life should get the very best! I think there is nothing sweeter than a custom made & engraved piece of jewellery! My mom has been there for me all my life, supported my successes & failures and never stopped loving me so I want to make sure that one day I can give back more than she has ever given me, starting with this gift!
