This NYFW did not get off to a great start when I woke up to a text from Olya who could not make her flight due to illness (thankfully she has fully recovered)! Needless to say, I dove in with low expectations and a bit of pessimism, but as it turns out this has been my best NYFW yet! I got to see some of my favourite designers (such as Rebecca Minkoff & Tibi), I met some amazing bloggers from all over the USA & I discovered an amazing photographer Marta, who took stunning pictures & happened to be a beautiful soul (also turns out she’s Polish like me)!
In addition, I decided to approach this NYFW differently, and it’s a big thanks to my husband. He told me something that really resonated with me: “One day when it’s all said and done and you retire from blogging, you will look back at these times and think how lucky you were to experience such things. You’ll reminisce the times you had the opportunity to attend NYFW and you want to have fond memories of that time. So enjoy yourself!” and I did just that! Instead of giving into the craziness of NYFW and attending every single show I can get my hands on, I went to the shows I really wanted to see and I decided to slow down & take in NYC by strolling the narrow streets of Soho, shopping at my favourite boutiques, savour the amazing food the city has to offer and enjoy the company of the new people I met. It honestly did all the difference. I wasn’t exhausted but rather energized by it all. It has taught me a valuable lesson that you need to enjoy the journey & make the best out of the cards you are dealt!
For this second NYFW outfit, I decided to go all black and white. Recently, I find myself re-defining my sense of style and fine tuning it. I love how this outfit came together. As mentioned in my previous post, blazers are a huge trend and a staple in one’s closet, so naturally it all started with this blazer. I belted it with this Gucci belt & paired it with these Aritzia vegan leggings (honestly worth the investment). I wore these white Aldo Wrangler booties -super comfy & very much on trend as cowboy boots are all the rage right now. To match it all, I wore this Aldo Lutea white cross-body bag, which is honestly so well constructed b/c you have three separate compartments so it’s easy to categorize your stuff and actually find them when you need them – especially important during NYFW (if you’re rushing to a show or for a meet up)! Finally, I topped off the look with this Noize faux fur coat which looks ultra rich and has surprisingly deep pockets – I fit a small umbrella in one and a can of Perrier in the other – no jokes lol! I wore a white H&M tee from their Conscious collection underneath the blazer and I layered it with 2 Ettika cold coin necklaces as well as some square Tom Ford glasses.
