When did a boring black suit become the corporate uniform? Guilty! Don’t get me wrong, a black suit can look great, as long as it’s paired with a fun top! Ladies, you can look stylish & on trend at the office just as much as on the weekend. The key is to invest in some great basics and build on them by mixing & matching with your current wardrobe. Easier said then done? Well, I took on the #5DAYSOFGRAYES challenge to find out for myself. The idea was to take two pieces of Grayes clothing: the classic black pencil pant & the pinstripe boyfriend blazer and create 5 work outfits to wear during my workweek. Grayes designs, develops & manufactures quality pieces in Toronto, Canada (yep, Made in Canada guys)! Their motto? “Elegant.Elevated.Exceptional” – just like all working chix ;) Curious yet?! Here is what I came up with:
Outfit #1:Pants – Grayes black pencil pant // Top – Tristan sleeveless stripe top (on sale) // Coat – Zara trench coat (super old, probably 8 yrs…) // Bag – BCBG neon orange bag (old) // Shoes – Nine West being pumps (old) // Sunnies – Quay Australia Like Wow Sunglasses- available at Tristan
Outfit #2: Pants – Grayes black pencil pant// Camisole – Zara lace cami (old) // Blazer – Citizens of Humanity red blazer (old) // Shoes – Le Chateau black peep toe mules // Bag – 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Satchel // Jewelry – Atelier Syp Jewelry
Outfit #4: Pants – Grayes black pencil pant// Vest – Judith & Charles black vest (old) // Top – Winners window pane top (old) Shoes – Le Chateau leather-like ankle strap sandal // Bag – Rudsak leather clutch
Outfit #5: Blazer – Grayes pinstripe boyfriend blazer // Camisole – Babaton Galen Camisole // Pants – Dynamite white culotte pants (old) // Shoes – BCBG tan mules // Bag – ZAC Zac Posen Eartha soft handle bag // Jewelry – Atelier Syp Jewelry
What do you guys think? Your turn to try out the #5Daysof Grayes challenge!
