I am a strong believer that Montreal based designers should be celebrated as it’s through them that we will attain global recognition as a fashion city. As such, I am absolutely ecstatic to share with you guys my collaboration with a fabulous local designer: Jennifer Masabni! A few weeks ago, I had a chance to have an exclusive interview with this amazing & talented woman, and I cannot wait to share the video with you very soon! This post however, is entirely dedicated to the new Masabni Spring/Summer 2015 collection. My take on her collection is that there are 3 mini collections within the collection. As such, I decided to split my posts in three distinct ones. The reason for doing so, is that each and every mini collection is unique in itself and needs to be appreciated separately, but at the same time, ties in well together. This post is all about the black & white mini collection that I fell in love with – chic, sophisticated & elegant.
Look #1: Masabni high waisted skirt – a new addition to Masbni designs. She usually only makes dresses but recently decided to start making separates so that women can have fun mixing & matching. As you can see, there are tons of options :) I decided to add a pop of red to this look with the red sandals & red lips clutch! This can be dressed up for work with a blazer and then you’re ready for a night out!
Look #2: Masabni black leather trim dress – or how I like to call it: MIAOW factor dress! This dress is absolute perfection, it hugs the body perfectly. I had the chance to wear it to the Fondation de la Mode benefit event this past Monday and got tons of compliments! This dress is the perfect length so that it can be worn to work with a jacket and it’s sexy & chic enough for a 5@7 or a fun event! You can even wear it to a wedding, it’s so versatile! This is ‘the’ LBD every woman needs in her closet!
Look #3: Masabni chiffon dress – fun & flirty! Perfect for a special occasion! Love how sexy it is on the top but not too revealing, just a peekaboo and how it flares at the bottom to add that feminine touch!
