I’m a strong advocate of mixing & matching. You can get so much more out of your closet by re-styling your favourites. With a few key pieces in your closet, you can virtually build hundreds of outfits – and your wallet will thank you! Case in point: the leather skirt. I don’t know why women are so scared of investing in leather skirts; they are extremely versatile. I decided to put your worries to rest and come up with 4 easy outfits that can be put together for any occasion: going to dinner, hanging out with friends, running errands or going out on a date. Hopefully these will spark your creativity! I love minis, but if you prefer a knee or midi length, all these outfit can work as well. I got my skirt from Zara and it’s actually a faux leather skirt, but looks & feels like a real one! If I have a choice & the quality is there, I always opt for faux leather.
Look # 1 – Dinner outfit – Comfortable yet chic – my favourite! This is such an easy outfit to put together – just throw a sweater on top of a skirt & it’s an instant outfit. You can also add tights of course if it’s too cold to do a bear leg – either black or neutral will work. I like the light weight sweater look for an occasion such as dinner, but I would swap if for a chunky knit to go out shopping. Also, I’m in love with stripes, they go with everything. Btw, whoever said that you cannot mix prints, must be stuck in the past! The trick is to mix the right prints – I will soon be doing a post on that. For the time being, stripes & leopard are a GO!
Sweater – Gap (I’m also loving this striped one from Shopbop) // Skirt – Zara (very similar faux leather skirt at Shopbop) // Clare Vivier leopard clutch – Shopbop // Fergie boots – Le Chateau (also loving these from Nordstrom) // Shades – Rayban (available at Shopbop here)
Look #2- Hanging out with friends: Fun & warm with a twist! I am obsessed with oversized scarves, especially plaid and tartan! I have them in three colors, this camel one, a white one & a burgundy one from this post. I simply cannot get enough – they look amazing & they’re so warm. The pop of color gives a new life to an otherwise plain outfit. This is a great outfit for a low key evening – coffee, drinks at the local pub, quick dinner or shopping. The cosiness of the scarf and the comfort of a flat make this a go everywhere & do anything type of outfit ;)

Look #3: Running errands on the weekend: Ultimate comfort – that’s how I like it when I’m running around town. A plaid shirt is my favourite go to piece when I’m in a hurry! Pairing it with this leather skirt & converse sneakers results in the perfect relaxed look – stylish but effortless. If your life is anything like mine, you have a jam packed schedule, no matter the day of the week even the weekends. When you have tons of things to accomplish on a Sunday, it’s best to be ultra comfortable and prepared for any type of weather. Wearing layers accomplishes just that – wear the shirt around your waist if it’s too hot and then put it on when it gets cool.

Look #4: Date night : Classy & sexy – I wouldn’t have it any other way! If I’m having a romantic night out, especially when we’re going out for drinks, I love to dress up! All you need is a stunning floral top & some heels! Be it sandals, pumps or knee high boots, the look will be polished and stylish either way. Heels elevate an outfit, it’s as simple as that. Slip into heels from your converse sneakers and it’s the perfect transition from day to night, even with a white tee on. It’s an opportunity to be creative, grab it!
