CoolSculpting

My Coolsculpting experience

The best outfit a woman can wear is confidence. When you dress yourself in confidence, you walk taller, you speak louder & you live life happier! This confidence comes from self-esteem, when you love yourself inside & out. In order to achieve this balance, you need to perform self-care that encompasses body, mind & soul. If you don’t feel good in your skin, you need to dig deep into the root of the problem and give yourself permission to change & do something about it. For me, that came in the form of taking care of my body by embarking on a health & fitness journey. I’ve been eating healthier, being active daily, taking time for myself & trying out new treatments in aesthetic medicine.

One of the things I’ve always been self-conscious about is my chin. Throughout my life, it seemed that no matter my fitness level, the double chin situation remained an issue that I wasn’t able to shake off. It prevented me from being positive about my body & at peace with myself. On the flip slide, I did not want to try any kind of surgery for something that was cosmetic in nature and that’s when I discovered CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting is a medical technology that permanently destroys localized fat, defines body contours, refines and sculpts your silhouette without surgery or downtime. It’s a process of destruction of fat cells through freezing. The CoolSculpting procedure targets stubborn fat in specific areas: abdomen, flank, upper arm, inner thigh, outer thigh, as well as back, chest and you guessed it: double chin!

I loved the idea of a treatment that was 100% non-invasive & discussed it with the experts at Dermapure Toronto during a facial treatment. Given the amazing experience I had with Dr. Fred Weksberg & the entire team who were true experts in the field, I decided to partner with the clinic to experience the treatment.

The CoolSculpting treatment lasts two hours (one hour on each side of the chin). Sarah, the Director of Dermapure Toronto and an expert in the field worked on the treatment. She hooked up the machine to my chin & it felt like a vacuum suction for the first couple of minutes, until the chin froze & I didn’t feel any more pressure afterwards, just a bit cold. Once the 45 minutes were up, Sarah massaged the area out & repeated the same step on the other side of the chin. Following the treatment, I did feel temporary numbness of the treated area and my chin was a bit swollen for a couple of weeks but I did not experience any bruising, which was surprising because my skin is usually like porcelain.

It took about 2 months for my chin to fully heal and for me to see results but they are simply unbelievable! The treatment got rid of the fat accumulation on the chin; leaving it well defined & making my face look smaller & younger! I am so impressed with these results and for the first time in my life feel comfortable with my chin. I truly am walking taller, smiling brighter & enjoy taking my pictures ten times over. I am forever thankful & grateful to the entire Dermapure team! See below before & after pictures:

CoolSculpting Before & After

For me, one treatment was enough to see significant results in the treated area, but it could require two sessions for some. Once the desired effects are achieved, the results will last so long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, which I plan on upholding for life. Self-care is extremely important and ever since I embarked on this journey, I feel so much better in my skin. We’re all imperfect, we all have areas for improvement, but we also have the power to make things happen for ourselves. Doing this treatment empowered me to be the best version of myself and continue being active, continue eating well, continue taking time for myself & continue doing what makes me feel good & happy. I hope this inspire you to take care of yourself too.
