GETAWAY TO RIU PALACE CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO WITH SUNWING X LE CHATEAU

I was drowning in work the last couple of months and I really needed to re-charge my batteries, so the idea of being whisked away by Sunwing x Le Chateau to Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas Mexico for 4 days to check out the destination and show you guys what you could win in the contest was more than welcomed!

If you’re in need of a relaxing & stress-free holiday in a luxury, all-inclusive resort, this contest has your name written all over it. Up for grabs: a trip for 2 to Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas Mexico & a $1,000 shopping spree at Le Chateau (click here to enter)! What does this all look like? Let me take you guys on the tour of the resort and show you some of the resort-ready outfits I picked out from Le Chateau.

The magic began at the Sunwing counter, in the Elite Plus line at the Toronto Pearson airport! We quickly completed our check-in and luggage drop off, without having to wait in line. The flight with Sunwing was smooth, and we had a ton of legroom sitting in the Elite Plus seats, next to an emergency exit. If you never flew to Cabo San Lucas Mexico, the flight is about 5 hours long, so it’s nice to have the space. The bubbly on the plane was a great touch! ;)

Upon our arrival to Cabo San Lucas, we were greeted at the airport by a private, air-conditioned mini bus that took us to the hotel, and just under an hour, we were sipping cocktails in the main lobby of the majestic Riu Palace! I already had the pleasure of visiting the Riu chain in another location and loved my experience, so I sort of had my expectations held high. However, I need to say that this particular resort blew them all out of water! The Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas resort is modern, minimalist & aesthetically upscale. It’s located on the edge of a small cliff, which makes for amazing panoramic views of the ocean.

There are two giant infinity pools in the resort, one on the quiet side and the other has music and entertainment, so you get to pick which one suits your mood that day ;) The resort is equipped with all you could possibly desire: amazing restaurants (Steakhouse being my favorite – they serve lobster and I live for lobster), bars, shop, spa, gym facilities and even a trendy coffee shop (coffee is delicious and I highly recommend trying the cherry cheesecake)! You can also discover two of Riu Palace’ sister hotels if you like, but in just 4 days, we really wanted to focus on Riu Palace, so we did not have a chance to see the others.

The beach stretches as far as the eye can see – so if you’re into jogging, this will be your spot. You can also walk along the coastline instead and take in the beauty of Los Cabos! The sand is white but not ultra soft, so be mindful of that when you run or walk for an extended period of time. The water is ultra clear in gradient colors of blue. The waves get harsh at certain times of the day but that just creates the most peaceful & relaxing sound. There is just nothing that compares to the sound of waves hitting the shore!

Being a beach bum myself, I was sure to snag this stunning Le Chateau yellow floral print kimono which made the perfect beach cover up! You can also wear it with shorts over a tank top, or tie up the kimono to transform it into a blouse – it’s a very versatile piece. Yellow i huge this season, so Annika & I really went for it during our Le Chateau shopping spree and picked out these matching yellow dresses & sandals that turned quite a few heads at the resort ;) The dress is so comfortable and extremely figure flattering! We also got matching pairs of straw & acrylic drop earrings which are very trendy this season and they go with everything!

Our room was exquisite & spacious with 2 king beds, a lounging & eating area, waterfall shower and hers & hers sinks in the bathroom. It also had a great balcony overlooking the ocean – I still miss this view:

The room was stocked with water, soft drinks, juices, beer and hard liquor, so there was just no excuse for being thirsty or not being tipsy! There was room service available 24/7 and we took advantage of ordering breakfast on our last day so that we can stay in and pack.

The food as this resort was exceptional – 5star, including the red wine – which is a rare occurrence down south, in my experience. The buffet was delicious! Aside from the buffet, we tried 3 a la carte restaurants: Steakhouse, Indian and French! As mentioned already, in my opinion lobster is life, so the Steakhouse was my fave, but the Indian restaurant was a very close second! The staff and the hotel & managers were exceptional and catered to our every need!

The resort is classy, so it requires a classy resort wear attire! For my 3rd outfit, I chose this beautiful polka dot blouse from Le Chateau & paired it with these Le Chateau white trousers! The outfit fit perfectly with the cactus decor & it’s great for mixing & matching – the blouse can go with pretty much any color of trousers or skirts so you can live in it all summer long, and even wear it to work. The trousers can be dressed up or down and the fit is simply perfection! These can also be worn to so many occasions, including work! I polished off the look with these white two-banded slide sandals (super comfy and ultra stylish)!

Annika & I had an amazing experience at Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas! If I were to go back, I would hands down choose this resort over and over again! The great food, the friendly staff, the beautiful décor, the views of the ocean & all the amenities – perfection! It truly deserves the 5 STARS! Thank you again Riu Palace, Sunwing & Le Chateau for having us & we hope to come back real soon!

Kisses,
